The gaming company Bethard, where Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a partner, is one of eight gaming companies fined by the Gaming Inspectorate. The reason is that the companies should have offered games at competitions where the majority of the participants are under the age of 18.
Zlatan's company is warned and receives a so-called penalty of SEK 2.5 million.
According to the Gaming Inspectorate's assessment, the provision of betting on events or events where predominantly players are under the age of 18 is a direct danger to minors being exposed to the influence of manipulating results, which in turn leads to negative consequences of gambling, writes the Gaming Inspectorate on its website .
In total, the eight companies will pay SEK 41.2 million together.
A decision that is welcomed by the National Sports Association.
The Gaming Inspectorate gives a good and clear signal that they want to take control of the gaming market and ensure that laws that apply for licenses are followed. It is a step in the right direction and I hope that the fines are recognizable to the gaming companies so that they really also change, says Chairman Björn Eriksson in a press release.
